HUB & SDVOSB Status

Moose Engineers, LLC is a HUB certified service-disabled veteran owned business and a VA certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). We are proud to work with our Mentor partner firm, Cleary Zimmermann Engineers.

We have established a Mentor/Protégé relationship with Cleary Zimmermann backed by Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M University Health Science Center.

What’s In The Name

The idea originated from some of Mike’s Air Force stories about the C-17 cargo aircraft, which carries “Moose” as its unofficial nickname, and that made us chuckle. While we aren’t a herd of furry creatures for hire (sorry!), we are a veteran-owned team of mission-driven engineers prepared to muscle through your design challenges and provide respectful, relationship-oriented client service.

What’s more — moose are not native to Texas, and our company is what you haven’t seen in Texas HUB engineering!

Danny Zimmermann, PE
Principal

Mike Hayes, Managing Principal for Moose Engineers, brings years of MEP project management and design experience to his firm.

Mike takes a practical management approach informed by his 20-year career in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

In early 2018, Mike began charting his ownership course after finding that a disproportionately low number of service-disabled veterans are leaders in the MEP industry.

Mike shared his intentions with his colleagues, Wade Cleary, PE and Danny Zimmermann, PE of Cleary Zimmermann Engineers, and the three came together to establish the firm.

Today, Mike is Managing Principal and majority shareholder, and Wade Cleary and Danny Zimmermann are Principals and minority shareholders in Moose Engineers.
